DropVid

Reddit video with sound

Save a Reddit video with its sound. Reddit stores the picture and the sound as separate files; DropVid joins them for you.

Works with TikTok, X / Twitter, Facebook, SoundCloud, Dailymotion and Twitch clips. Reddit, Vimeo, Bilibili, Instagram and YouTube when they allow it (see what works right now).

How it works

  1. Copy the link

On Reddit, tap Share on the post, then Copy link.

  2. Paste it

    Paste it above.

  3. Save

Pick a quality and save. The sound is already in the file.

Why other saves have no sound

Reddit's own player streams video and audio as two separate files and plays them together. Saving the video file alone, which many tools and browser extensions do, gives you a silent video.

DropVid downloads both and joins them into one MP4 on our server, so the file you save plays with sound anywhere.

When it does not work

Reddit sometimes blocks servers like ours. When that happens the download fails with a plain message, and the status page shows it. Trying again later usually works.

Videos linked from other sites (YouTube, Streamable) are not hosted on Reddit. Open the post, copy the original link and paste that instead.

Questions

Does it work with old.reddit.com links?
Yes, both www.reddit.com and old.reddit.com post links. Short redd.it links are not supported yet; open them and copy the full link.
Can I save GIFs from Reddit?
Reddit serves most GIFs as short videos. Save them here, then make a real GIF in the editor if you need one.

The editor can also make: Video to GIF, Video to MP3, Make a video vertical, Video to text, Add subtitles to a video, Save a frame from a video.
