Privacy
Last updated 28 September 2026.
DropVid has no accounts, sets no tracking cookies and sells nothing about you.
What we handle
- The links you paste. We use them to fetch the media you asked for.
- Your IP address. We use it to limit how many requests one person can make, and to stop abuse. To count free downloads we store only a scrambled form of it that changes every day and cannot be turned back into the address.
- A random device code. Kept in your browser, so your five free downloads are counted per device. It says nothing about who you are.
- Your DropVid key, if you buy one. We store only a scrambled form of the key, its credits, and the payment reference you sent, so we can find and replace a lost key. We do not need your name or email.
How long we keep it
- Downloaded files: two minutes after you save them, so you can retry a failed save, and never more than 20 minutes.
- Server logs that include links or IP addresses: at most 24 hours.
- Daily download counts per device or network: three days.
- Keys and their payment references: as long as the key has credits, and a year after that for our accounts.
- Totals with no personal data, such as how many downloads worked per platform: kept.
The editor
The editor (GIF, crop, frame, MP3, transcript, subtitles) runs entirely in your browser. Files you open in it are not uploaded anywhere. The speech model used for transcripts is downloaded once from Hugging Face and then runs on your device.
Who else is involved
- Oracle Cloud runs the server that hosts this website and fetches media.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you.
- Cloudflare provides our DNS and the bot check (Turnstile), and carries our server's requests to YouTube, Reddit and Bilibili (WARP). Those requests contain the video link, never anything about you.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at hello@dropvid.online. Because we keep so little for so short a time, there is usually nothing left to find.
