Download part of a video

Set a start and an end, and save only that part. Only those seconds are downloaded, so it is quicker and smaller than the whole video.

Works with TikTok, X / Twitter, Facebook, SoundCloud, Dailymotion and Twitch clips. Reddit, Vimeo, Bilibili, Instagram and YouTube when they allow it (see what works right now).

How it works

  1. Copy the link

Copy the link to the video.

  2. Paste it

Paste it above. Only save part of it is already ticked.

  3. Save

Set From and To, then save the clip.

Why only the part is downloaded

Most tools save the whole video and then cut it. DropVid asks the site for just the range you picked, so a ten second clip from an hour-long stream is a ten second download. That is faster for you, and it uses less of your data.

Cuts land on the nearest keyframe, so a clip can start up to a second or two earlier than you set. Pick a start a little before the moment you want.

Setting the times

Drag the sliders, or type the times, like 1:05 or 0:12. The clip can be up to 30 minutes long. The size next to the button updates as you move them.

Want a GIF instead? Save the clip, then tap Make a GIF, clip or transcript: the editor opens on it without another download.

Questions

Can I download just part of a video online?
Yes. Paste the link, tick Only save part of it, set the start and end, and save.
Can I save only the audio of a part?
Yes. Choose Audio only, then set the start and end.
Does a clip count as a full download?
A clip counts by its size, like any download: one download for every 250 MB, so most clips count as one.

The editor can also make: Video to GIF, Video to MP3, Make a video vertical, Video to text, Add subtitles to a video, Save a frame from a video.
