Where do downloaded videos go?
Into your Downloads folder, on every phone and computer. The trouble is that each one hides it somewhere different, and a video in Downloads does not always show up in your photo gallery. Here is where to look.
iPhone and iPad
Open the Files app, tap Browse, then Downloads.
- To put the video in Photos: open it in Files, tap Share, then Save Video.
- Safari's download list: tap the page menu at the left of the address bar, then Downloads.
- If Downloads is empty, check where Safari saves files: Settings, Apps, Safari, Downloads.
Android
Open the Files app (My Files on Samsung) and tap Downloads.
- Or open Chrome's menu (the three dots) and tap Downloads.
- In Google Photos it shows under Library, in the Download folder. Some gallery apps list it under Downloads.
Windows
The Downloads folder: open File Explorer and click Downloads on the left.
- In Chrome or Edge, press Ctrl+J to see recent downloads and open the folder.
Mac
The Downloads folder: open Finder and click Downloads in the sidebar.
- In Safari or Chrome, press Option+Cmd+L to see recent downloads.
Still cannot find it?
- Search your phone or computer for part of the video's title. DropVid names files after the video, plus the quality or the clip's times when you picked them.
- The download may have been blocked or stopped. In DropVid, tap Save again: the file stays ready on our server for two minutes after you save it.
- A file ending in .part or .crdownload did not finish. Delete it and save again.
Saving from your phone often? Put DropVid in the Share menu: on Android or on iPhone.
